Unfortunately, the new Ontario Progressive Conservative government has eliminated the Green Energy Fund. What If I Already Signed Up For A Rebate Program?
If you have already signed up for a rebate before June 18th, it will still be honoured if you meet the following criterial:
- You signed work agreement with a participating contractor before June 19, 2022.
- The work must be complet before October 31, 2022
- Your rebate application must be submitted by November 30, 2022
If you meet these criteria, you will still be able to take advantage of the cost savings offered through the GreenON program.
Good News! There Are Green Ontario Alternatives
Even though the Green Ontario program is over, there are still a number of ways you can still get rebates and save money on the installation of new energy efficient windows for your home:
Enbridge Home Energy Upgrades
Similar to the Green Ontario program, Enbridge offers customers up to $5000 in incentives for upgrading your AC unit, installing a high efficiency furnace, add insulation, air sealing, and installing efficient windows and doors.
Under the program you will receive an $80 rebate for each window, door, or skylight replace with ENERGY STAR Zone 2 or 3 qualified models.
