Part One: Windows

Your windows play a vital role in your home’s comfort, energy efficiency, security, and curb appeal. But old or outdated windows can quickly become a liability — driving up energy costs, reducing comfort, and detracting from your home’s appearance.

We know that replacing your windows can feel overwhelming. With so many styles, sizes, and features to choose from, figuring out where to start is often the hardest part. That’s exactly why we created the Complete Buyer’s Guide to New Windows and Doors — to walk you through the entire process step by step.

In this section, we’ll start by helping you recognize the key signs it’s time to replace your windows — so you can make informed, confident decisions for your home.

5 Signs It's Time to Replace Your Windows

Many Ontario homeowners don’t realize their windows need replacing until major issues arise. Even if your windows look fine, hidden problems can impact your home’s comfort, energy efficiency, and safety. If you notice one or more of these signs, it’s time to consider an upgrade:

  1. Drafts and Temperature Fluctuations
Feeling a chill near your windows? Struggling to maintain a consistent indoor temperature? Drafty windows are a clear sign of poor insulation and inefficiency. These air leaks force your HVAC system to work harder, driving up energy bills year-round.

  2. Leaks and Moisture Buildup
Window leaks are a major red flag. They often point to broken seals or structural damage – issues that require immediate attention and replacement. Watch for:

    • Water stains or leaks around the window frame.
    • Persistent condensation on the glass or between panes.
    • Frost buildup during colder months.
  1. Rising Energy Bills
If your energy costs keep climbing without explanation, your windows could be the culprit. Inefficient windows lead to heat loss in winter and unwanted heat gain in summer, making your HVAC system overcompensate. Upgrading to energy-efficient windows can provide immediate savings and long-term value.

  2. Difficulty Opening, Closing, or Locking
Windows should open, close, and lock smoothly. Sticking, jamming, or failing to latch properly often means warped frames, improper installation, or wear and tear. Functional windows are essential for both convenience and home security.

  3. Visible Damage or Deterioration
Cracked glass, rotting frames, broken locks, or deteriorating sills compromise efficiency and safety. Don’t wait — addressing visible damage early prevents more costly repairs down the line.

Why Wait? Upgrade Your Windows Today
Recognizing these signs is the first step toward a more comfortable, energy-efficient, and valuable home. With the right replacement windows, you’ll eliminate these problems and enjoy a stylish, cost-effective upgrade.

Types of Window Replacement Projects

Selecting the right installation method is crucial to ensuring long-term performance, energy efficiency, and durability. The best approach depends on the condition of your existing windows, your home’s structure, and your budget.

There are three primary window installation methods:

Retrofit Installation

Retrofit installations involve fitting new windows into your existing frames without removing interior or exterior trim. This is the most cost-effective, and least invasive option.

This type of installation is best for homes where the existing window frames are in good condition, properly installed, and free from damage.

Benefits include:

  • More affordable and faster installation.
  • Minimal disruption to your home’s interior and exterior.
  • Preserves existing window trim and wall finishes.

Full-Frame Installation

Full-frame installation involves removing the entire window unit – including the frame, casing and jamb – down to the wall studs. Everything is replace with brand new components for a complete refresh. It is more labour intensive, which may increase your installation cost.

This type of installation is best for older homes with deteriorating window frames, water damage, or air leaks.

Benefits include:

  • Ensures a long-lasting, secure installation.
  • Address hidden structural damage or insulation issues.
  • Improves energy efficiency by eliminating drafts or leaks.

Brick-to-Brick Installation

The most comprehensive installation method, brick-to-brick replacement removes the old window, frame, and exterior finishes. A new window unit, frame, and trim are installed from scratch – this ensures a complete, fully updated look.

This method of installation is recommended for homes needing a full window system replacement. It becomes a bit more expensive than alternative methods due to increase labour and material costs, however, it ensures unmatched durability and better performance.

Benefits include:

  • A complete transformation with new trims, moldings and insulation.
  • Addresses all structural concerns and maximizes energy efficiency.
  • Ideal for homes with aging or inefficient window systems.

Which Installation Method is Right for You?

Understanding your current window conditions and renovation goals will help determine the best installation type for your home.

  • Looking for a budget-friendly upgrade? Retrofit Installation
  • Need to replace deteriorating frames? Stud-to-Stud Installation
  • Want a complete overhaul for aesthetics and efficiency? Brick-to-Brick Installation

How Many Window Panes Do I Need?

When choosing new windows, the number of glass panes (also called glazing) plays a huge role in energy efficiency, comfort, and noise reduction. Modern windows typically come in single, double, or triple panes — and upgrading to double or triple-pane is highly recommended for Ontario homes.

Let’s take a closer look at the differences:

Single-Pane / Single Glazed

An illustration of a single-pane/single-glazed window.

Single-paned windows feature just one sheet of glass and while they were common in older homes, they fall far short of today’s energy efficiency and performance standards and are not recommended for modern homes.

Why Single-Pane Windows Fall Short
  • Poor insulation allows for greater thermal transfer which means cold drafts in winter and excessive heat in summer.
  • This heat loss and gain drive up your HVAC usage and your energy bills.
  • An outdated technology that lacks modern features like low-e coatings, and argon gas fills.
  • More prone to cracks, breaks and costly repairs.

Verdict: EcoTech Windows & Doors does not recommend single-pane windows for any application, they are outdated and inefficient.

Double-Pane / Dual Glazed

An illustration of a double-pane/dual glazed window.

Double-pane windows are the standard for most homes today. They feature two panes of glass, separated by an argon gas layer, offering a perfect balance of energy efficiency, comfort, and affordability.

Key Benefits of Dual Glazed Windows
  • Better insulation (two panes, gas filling) reduces heat transfer and keeps your home more comfortable.
  • Improved energy efficiency lowers your heating and cooling costs year-round.
  • The two layers of glass help block outdoor sounds for a quieter home.
  • More durable and sturdy than single-pane alternatives.
  • Delivers excellent performance while remaining affordable and within your budget.

Verdict: EcoTech Windows & Doors highly recommends double-paned windows because of their ideal combination of performance and value.

Triple-Pane / Triple Glazed

An illustration of a triple-pane/triple glazed window.

Triple-pane windows are for homeowners looking for a premium upgrade. With three panes of glass and two argon gas layers, these windows deliver unmatched insulation and soundproofing.

What Sets Triple-Pane Windows Apart
  • With extra glass panes and an additional gas chamber, they provide superior insulation.
  • Reduces energy bills even more than double-paned options.
  • Advanced soundproofing thanks to additional glazing.
  • Highly resistant to damage.

Verdict: Triple-Pane windows are the best for providing maximum comfort and efficiency, but also costs more than options with fewer glass panes.

So, Which Should You Choose?

  • On a budget but want efficiency? Double-pane windows offer excellent value and performance.
  • Want the best of the best? Triple-pane windows provide superior comfort, efficiency, and soundproofing.

No matter what you choose, EcoTech Windows & Doors is here to help you find the perfect fit for your home. Let’s start your home upgrade today with a no-risk, in-home estimate!

Comparing Window Frame Materials

Choosing the right material for your window frame plays a big role in the overall performance, durability, and appearance of your windows. Today, homeowners typically choose from three popular frame options: Wood, Aluminum, and Vinyl. Each has its own set of advantages and drawbacks. Let’s break them down:

Wood

Wood is the traditional favourite for window frames, and is known for its strength and aesthetic appeal. While they are beautiful and provide good insulation, they do require regular maintenance to preserve their look and functionality.

Pros
Structural Integrity - Wood is strong and ideal for supporting large windows.
Design Flexibility - Can be painted or stained any colour to match your home's style.
Natural Insulation - Helps to maintain temperature consistency.

Cons
Regular Maintenance - Wood frames require periodic sanding, repainting, and caulking to protect against wear and moisture.
Upkeep Costs - Additional, and ongoing, time and money spent on maintenance.
Vulnerable to Moisture - Wood can rot, warp, or develop mold and milden when exposed to water.

Aluminum

Aluminum frames are known for their strength, durability, and lightweight nature. They are a popular choice for modern designs and commercial buildings. However, they aren’t the best option for colder climates due to their lack of insulation.

Pros
Durability - Resistant to scratches and cracks, offers long-lasting strength.
Design Flexibility - Can be painted to match your home's style.
Lightweight - Strong but relatively light, easier to handle during installations.

Cons
Poor Energy Efficiency - Aluminum is a poor thermal conductor, making it less ideal for colder climates.
Condensation - Without thermal breaks, aluminum frames can create condensation - which could lead to mold or rot.
Cost & Maintenance - Generally more expensive than vinyl, they also require periodic care to maintain appearance and performance.

Vinyl (uPVC)

Vinyl windows have become the industry standard, and are EcoTech’s specialty, accounting for around two-thirds of the window market. Energy efficient, low maintenance, and affordable, vinyl frames are a popular choice for Ontario homeowners looking for a long-lasting solution.

Pros
Affordability - A budget-friendly option that offers great value.
Durability - Vinyl will not rot, warp or dent, making it a top choice.
Energy Efficiency - Vinyl is one of the best materials for insulation, offering maximum energy efficiency and soundproofing. Especially when the frames are foam-filled.
Low Maintenance - Vinyl does not need to be repainted or sealed - just occasional cleaning with dish soap and water to keep them looking good.

Cons
Less Customization - Often more standardized in terms of design, Vinyl still offers a variety of styles to suit most homes.

So, Which Should You Choose?

When it comes to choosing the best window frame material for your home, vinyl is the clear choice for Ontario homeowners seeking a combination of affordability, durability, and energy efficiency according to EcoTech.

Why Choose Vinyl? Vinyl windows offer superior energy efficiency, which helps maintain comfortable indoor temperatures while reducing your heating and cooling costs. Their thermal performance is unmatched, ensuring your home stays warm in winter and cool in summer. Plus, vinyl frames require little maintenance—no need for sanding, painting, or worrying about rotting, like wood frames.

Here’s why vinyl frames stand out:

  • Maximum Insulation: Vinyl provides excellent insulation, keeping your home energy-efficient.
  • Durability: Unlike wood or aluminum, vinyl windows won’t rot, warp, or corrode over time. They also resist cracking and denting.
  • Low Maintenance: Vinyl windows are easy to clean and never need repainting, saving you time and money on upkeep.
  • Affordability: Vinyl windows are a cost-effective option, giving you great value for your money while enhancing your home’s aesthetic appeal.
  • Design Flexibility: They come in various styles and finishes to complement your home’s décor.

For Canadian homeowners who prioritize long-term savings, minimal upkeep, and optimal energy efficiency, vinyl windows are the perfect fit. Let EcoTech guide you through selecting the best vinyl windows for your home, offering the quality, performance, and affordability you need! Understand the Dynamics of Window Glass

In Ontario, where annual temperature fluctuations are extreme, window glass must be able to handle significant changes. To perform effectively, windows need to keep heat in during the cold winters and block it out during the hot summers, maintaining a comfortable indoor environment year-round.

Low-E (Low Emissivity) argon-filled window glass significantly outperforms standard single or double-pane glass in controlling temperature transfer. The combination of Low-E technology and argon gas inside the glass slows down the movement of heat, improving energy efficiency and comfort.

Our Super Spacer technology play a crucial role by allowing the window spacers to expand and contract as temperatures shift, and noise reduction. This flexibility helps preserve the integrity of the window seal, reducing the risk of air leaks, seal breaks, and the buildup of moisture or condensation on the glass.

Additionally, Low-E windows help reduce visible light transmission, block harmful UV rays, and minimize solar heat gain. This means better protection for your indoor environment, preserving furniture and flooring from UV damage while maintaining a comfortable indoor temperature. With these advanced features, EcoSmart windows are designed to perform under Ontario’s demanding climate conditions.

What Makes a Window Energy Efficient?

Energy Star

The energy efficiency of windows depends on several factors, and it’s crucial to consider where you live to ensure your windows meet the necessary performance standards. In Canada, all windows are certified under the Canadian Standards Association (CSA), which uses several metrics to evaluate energy performance, ensuring they are suitable for the climate in which they will be installed.

Key performance metrics include:

  • U-factor: This measures the rate of heat transfer through the window. A lower U-factor indicates better insulation and energy efficiency.
  • Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC): This value measures how much solar heat passes through the window. Lower SHGC is ideal for warmer climates as it minimizes heat entering the home.
  • Energy Rating (ER): The overall energy performance of the window, combining the U-factor, SHGC, and other factors.
  • R-value: The window’s ability to resist heat flow. Higher R-values indicate better insulation.
  • Visible Transmittance (VT): This measures the amount of visible light the window allows through. A higher VT can help with natural lighting without compromising energy efficiency.
  • Centre-of-glass Rating: This focuses on the insulating properties of the glass itself, excluding the frame.

The CSA uses the Energy Star guide to categorize windows into three climate zones:

  • Zone 1 (Warmest): For regions with fewer than 3,500 Heating-Degree Days (HDDs), windows must have a minimum energy rating of 34.
  • Zone 2 (Moderate): For regions with 3,500 to less than 6,000 HDDs, the minimum energy rating must be 29.
  • Zone 3 (Coldest): For areas with 6,000 or more HDDs, windows need a minimum energy rating of 25.

HDDs measure the sum of the daily temperatures below 18°C for the year. Colder regions require windows with lower U-factors and higher energy ratings to reduce heat loss and maintain comfort inside your home.

why energy star label is important
The CSA is responsible for administering the Energy Star program in Canada. Products with the Energy Star labal are more energy efficient than the competition.

NAFS-22 Certification for Window Performance

NAFS, or the North American Fenestration Standard, is a comprehensive certification that ensures windows meet stringent performance standards. This certification is essential for ensuring that your windows are not only safe and durable but also efficient, offering protection from the elements while contributing to your home’s energy efficiency.

What Does NAFS-22 Cover?

The NAFS-22 standard evaluates the performance of windows across several key areas:

  1. Air Tightness: Windows must resist air infiltration, which helps prevent drafts and energy loss. A certified NAFS-22 window ensures that your home stays comfortable without the need for constant heating or cooling.

  2. Structural Performance: Windows must be able to withstand varying wind pressures and impacts, ensuring they remain intact and secure, even during extreme weather conditions. This includes strength against windstorms, heavy rain, and the potential for damage from debris.

  3. Water Penetration Resistance: NAFS-22 ensures that windows prevent water from entering your home, protecting against leaks that could cause water damage or mold growth. This feature is especially important in areas with heavy rainfall or fluctuating temperatures.

  4. Energy Efficiency: While NAFS-22 itself doesn’t directly measure energy efficiency, it ensures that windows are built with the structural integrity and performance features needed for effective energy conservation. This means that windows certified under NAFS-22 are likely to be better insulated and contribute to maintaining indoor temperatures more effectively.

  5. Temperature Resistance: Windows certified to NAFS-22 are built to endure extreme temperature changes without compromising their performance. This is particularly important in regions with large fluctuations in seasonal temperatures, such as Ontario, where windows need to be able to handle both the summer heat and the harsh winter cold.

Why Does NAFS-22 Matter?

Choosing windows that are NAFS-22 certified means you are investing in products that adhere to rigorous standards for durability, performance, and safety. These windows have been tested to ensure they will:

  • Keep your home airtight and energy-efficient.
  • Provide reliable structural strength, even in challenging weather conditions.
  • Protect against water penetration and maintain comfort year-round.

In summary, NAFS-22 certification is an essential indicator of window quality and reliability. When you select windows with this certification, you can be confident that your investment will enhance your home’s security, comfort, and energy efficiency for years to come.

What to Look for in a Window Warranty

When investing in replacement windows, the warranty coverage is one of the most important factors to consider. A solid warranty gives you peace of mind that your investment is protected if anything goes wrong with your windows or their installation. However, not all warranties are created equal. Here’s what to look for when reviewing a window warranty:

Length of the Warranty

The duration of your warranty is crucial. Many reputable window companies offer lifetime warranties, though this can vary by brand and product. A typical warranty might last anywhere from 25 years to a lifetime, but parts and labor coverage may have shorter terms. Be sure to check when the warranty expires to ensure you’re fully covered for the long term.

Labour Warranty

A labour warranty covers any issues related to the installation of your windows. This type of coverage typically ranges from 2 to 10 years, depending on your provider. Understanding how long your labour warranty lasts will help you manage any concerns that arise post-installation, such as improper installation that might affect window performance.

Parts Warranty

Your windows’ parts warranty outlines which components are covered and for how long. Often, the frame or glass may be covered under a lifetime warranty, but other parts like hardware or seals may have shorter coverage periods. Make sure to inquire about which specific parts are included and how long the coverage lasts to avoid any surprises down the road.

Transferability

If you plan to sell your home in the future, a transferable warranty can add value. Many window warranties are transferable to the new homeowners, making your windows a selling point. Be sure to check if the warranty can be passed along and if any conditions apply.

Exclusions and Limitations

Like any warranty, window warranties come with exclusions and limitations. Natural disasters such as storms, hail, or flying debris typically aren’t covered, and glass breakage may fall outside of the warranty’s scope. It’s important to review the fine print and understand what isn’t covered. If you have any doubts or questions, reach out to the window company for clarification to avoid confusion later.

A comprehensive window warranty, like the one EcoTech provides, protects both your investment and your home. By paying attention to these key aspects—warranty length, labor and parts coverage, transferability, and exclusions—you’ll ensure that your windows provide lasting value and performance for years to come.

The right company ensures you get high-performance windows, expert installation, and a hassle-free experience. And while there are plenty of companies out there, not all of them meet the same high standards.

Here’s what to look for — and how EcoTech Windows & Doors checks every box:

A Strong Reputation You Can Trust

When it comes to your home, experience and reputation matter. Look for a company with years of success, positive reviews, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. EcoTech Windows & Doors has built a strong name across Ontario since 2001 and we are known for providing exceptional products and service. Our track record speaks for itself — just ask our many happy customers.

Licensed, Certified, and Experienced

The best windows won’t perform well without expert installation. Make sure the company you choose employs licensed and certified installers who know how to get the job done right. At EcoTech, our team is fully certified, highly trained, and focused on precision — ensuring your windows perform at their peak for years to come.

Full-Service Manufacturing and Installation

Why deal with multiple companies when you can have everything under one roof? Some companies only install windows, while others only manufacture them. EcoTech does both — we manufacture high-quality vinyl windows and install them with care and expertise. This streamlined approach saves you time, reduces stress, and ensures consistency from start to finish.

A Portfolio That Shows Real Results

Seeing is believing. A company’s portfolio gives you a glimpse into the quality of their work. EcoTech has an extensive collection of completed projects, showcasing a wide range of window styles and installations. We’ve worked on homes just like yours — and we’re proud of the results.

EcoTech is known for our friendly, knowledgeable product specialist team that takes the time to understand your vision and find the right solution for your home and budget. Plus, we offer free, no-obligation estimates — so you can make an informed decision without feeling rushed.

Flexible Financing Options

New windows are an investment — but that doesn’t mean they have to strain your budget. Some companies offer limited payment options, while others (like EcoTech) go the extra mile to make financing easy and accessible. With payment plans starting as low as $49 a month, no-pay options for up to 12 months, and 0% financing for 24 months on approved credit, we make sure your window project stays affordable. Plus, we help you take advantage of government programs like the Canada Greener Homes Loan.

Insurance and Bonding for Your Peace of Mind

Protecting your home means working with a fully licensed and insured company. Always ask for proof of insurance to ensure you’re covered in case of any unexpected issues. EcoTech is fully insured and bonded, giving you complete peace of mind every step of the way.

Associations & Credentials to Look For

When investing in new windows and doors, you want to be sure you’re working with a company that stands behind their products and service. One of the best ways to gauge a company’s reliability, performance, and reputation is through their industry credentials and professional associations. These certifications are more than just logos — they’re proof that a company meets the highest standards for quality and customer satisfaction.

Here’s what to look for — and why EcoTech Windows & Doors is a name you can trust:

  • Energy Star Certified: Energy Star windows are the gold standard for energy efficiency, helping you save on energy bills while keeping your home comfortable year-round. EcoTech’s vinyl windows meet and exceed Energy Star requirements for Ontario’s climate zones.
  • Window Wise Certification: Window Wise is a nationally recognized quality assurance program that ensures your windows are installed by trained, certified professionals. EcoTech is proud to be a Window Wise-certified company, meaning our products and installation practices meet the highest industry standards.
  • Better Business Bureau (BBB) Accredited: A company’s BBB accreditation shows their commitment to ethical business practices and excellent customer service. EcoTech holds an A+ rating, reflecting our dedication to customer satisfaction and addressing any concerns with integrity.
  • HomeStars Verified: HomeStars is a trusted platform for finding reputable home improvement professionals, and EcoTech consistently earns top ratings from our customers. Our high Star Score reflects our strong reputation for quality work, responsiveness, and great customer experiences.

Choosing the right window company means choosing one with the right credentials — and EcoTech Windows & Doors proudly meets them all. With our proven track record, you can feel confident your home is in good hands.

How Much Will New Windows Cost?

Every window replacement project is unique — and so is the cost. The total price of your new windows depends on several factors, like the style, size, features, custom options, and the number of windows you’re replacing. But one thing’s for sure: with EcoTech Windows & Doors, you’ll always get the best value for your investment.

For smaller windows, prices can start as low as $300–$500. And if you’re replacing multiple windows at once, the cost per window often goes down, saving you even more. Plus, with EcoTech’s flexible financing options — like payment plans starting at just $49/month and 0% financing on approved credit — we make it easy to upgrade your home without breaking the bank.

EcoSmart combines the latest design trends, materials, and innovations to make the most durable & energy efficient windows on the market today.

Part Two: Exterior Doors, Patio Doors, Garage Doors

Your doors are one of the first things people notice and interact with when they visit your home. More than just a design feature, your entry doors are used daily and play a crucial role in accessibility, security, and energy efficiency. Over time, older doors can become misaligned with your home’s design, difficult to operate, and may even create security vulnerabilities.

Upgrading your entry, garage, or patio doors can dramatically enhance your home’s curb appeal, improve ease of access, strengthen security, and boost your property’s value. However, choosing the right type and style of door involves more than just looks — factors like size, material, insulation, and durability all play an important role.

In this section of our guide, we’ll walk you through the top signs it’s time to replace your doors, explore your upgrade options, and outline what to look for when hiring a door replacement company. Whether you’re looking for a stylish front entry door, a secure garage entry, or a sleek patio door, making the right choice will ensure long-lasting beauty, performance, and peace of mind.

5 Signs It's Time to Replace Your Doors

Your entry doors are one of the most frequently used features of your home — yet they often go unnoticed until problems start to appear. Whether it’s a sticking door or visible wear and tear, the signs of an aging or inefficient door shouldn’t be ignored. Upgrading your entry doors can improve your home’s security, energy efficiency, and curb appeal — and EcoTech Windows & Doors is here to help you make the right choice.

Here are some clear signs it’s time to replace your entry doors:

1. They’re Out of Style
An outdated entry door can take away from your home’s overall appearance — especially if you’ve recently updated other exterior features. A modern, stylish entry door that complements your home’s design can instantly boost curb appeal and leave a lasting impression.

2. Drafts and Air Leaks
If you feel a draft near your entry door, it’s likely the seals are broken or worn out. Much like inefficient windows, air leaks around a door allow heat to escape in the winter and enter in the summer — driving up your energy bills. Left unaddressed, these leaks can also let in moisture, increasing the risk of mold or water damage.

3. Visible Damage
Dents, chips, cracks, or warping are clear signs that your door has seen better days. Beyond appearance, damaged doors can compromise the structural integrity of your entryway, making your home less secure and less efficient at keeping out the elements.

4. They Don’t Open or Close Properly
If your door sticks, scrapes the floor, or is difficult to open and close, it’s more than just an inconvenience — it’s a sign of warping, shifting, or frame misalignment. Over time, these issues can lead to air leaks, reduced insulation, and weakened security.

5. You’re Upgrading Your Windows
Planning a window replacement? It’s the perfect time to upgrade your entry door, too. Coordinating your window and door replacement ensures a cohesive design and allows you to bundle project costs, making the entire upgrade more efficient and affordable.

At EcoTech Windows & Doors, we offer a wide range of high-quality entry, patio, and garage doors designed for style, security, and energy efficiency. Whether you’re replacing a single door or giving your entire home exterior a facelift, our team is here to guide you through every step.

Types of Door Upgrades

Your home’s doors do more than provide access — they enhance curb appeal, improve energy efficiency, and boost security. Choosing the right door upgrade depends on the location, your design preferences, and your home’s functionality needs. At EcoTech Windows & Doors, we offer a variety of high-quality door options tailored to fit your home’s unique style and performance requirements.

Here’s a closer look at the four main types of door upgrades:

Single Entry Doors

Your front entry door sets the tone for your home’s exterior. It’s a key part of curb appeal and plays a crucial role in energy efficiency and security. Steel and fiberglass entry doors are popular choices because they’re durable, low-maintenance, and energy-efficient. With a wide range of styles and colours available, you can choose a bold, classic, rustic, or traditional design that complements your home perfectly.

Double Entry Doors

Make a statement with double entry doors. This upgrade not only creates a grander, more impressive entrance but also brings more natural light into your home and improves accessibility. Available in a variety of styles and colours, double entry doors add elegance and functionality while enhancing your home’s overall design.

Patio Doors

Sliding glass and French-style patio doors blend beauty and practicality, offering seamless access to outdoor spaces like your backyard or deck. With multiple panel configurations and customizable options, you can choose a design that enhances your home’s style while maximizing natural light and outdoor views.

Garage Doors

A garage door is one of the most visible and frequently used entry points to your home. Beyond function, it has a major impact on your home’s overall aesthetic. Modern garage doors offer a wide variety of design and colour choices — whether you prefer a traditional, contemporary, or rustic look, there’s a perfect style to suit your home.

What to Look for When Selecting a Door Replacement Company

Choosing the right door company is one of the most important decisions you’ll make for your door replacement project. The company you select will directly impact the quality of the products, the workmanship, and how smoothly the entire process goes.

Here’s what to look for when selecting a door company:

Strong Online Reviews and Reputation

A company’s reputation speaks volumes about the service and quality you can expect. Look for door companies with consistently positive reviews and testimonials. Check their ratings on trusted platforms like Google, HomeStars, and the Better Business Bureau. A strong reputation in your community is a good indicator of reliability and customer satisfaction.

Wide Selection of Doors and Hardware

The right company should offer a wide range of high-performance door options, including entry doors, patio doors, and garage doors. A good selection ensures you can choose the right materials, styles, and colours to match your home’s design. If you’re upgrading multiple doors, working with a company that offers variety makes it easier to create a cohesive, uniform look.

Industry Experience and Longevity

A company’s years of service and experience matter. Companies that have been around for a long time have a proven track record and deep expertise in handling different types of installations and custom projects. Longevity also shows that they’re committed to providing reliable service and have built a solid foundation of trust with their customers. EcoTech Windows & Doors is proud to have been serving Ontario homeowners for over 24 years, since 2001.

A Company that Offers Both Windows and Doors

A company that sells and installs both windows and doors understands how to coordinate these key elements for a consistent and polished look. Combining your window and door replacement project with one company can also save time and simplify the process, ensuring styles and finishes complement each other perfectly.

Flexible Financing Options

Replacing your home’s doors is a big investment. Look for a company that offers flexible payment plans and financing options to make your project more affordable. Whether it’s low monthly payments, deferred payment options, or 0% financing on approved credit, flexible financing helps you complete your project without financial strain.

Energy Efficient Products

Doors play a significant role in your home’s overall energy efficiency. A quality door company should offer energy-efficient options like insulated steel and fiberglass doors with proper weatherproofing and high-performance seals. Choosing energy-efficient products helps reduce your energy bills and keeps your home comfortable year-round. All EcoTech products meet or exceed the minimum Energy Star requirements for Canada.

Proven Workmanship and Portfolio

The quality of a company’s previous work is one of the best indicators of what you can expect for your own project. Ask to see their portfolio of past installations, read case studies, or request references. Seeing real examples of their work helps you gauge their attention to detail, craftsmanship, and style range.

Choosing the right door company ensures your home improvement project is handled with care and expertise. At EcoTech Windows & Doors, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional products, expert installation, and outstanding customer service — from consultation to completion.
