What Happens on Installation Day? Your Window Replacement Project Explained

You’ve decided to install new windows. Congratulations! Once installed, you will quickly see the benefits of new windows in your home. But, before you can reap the rewards of new windows, they need to be installed. We get a lot of questions about installation day. Naturally, you, just like the rest of our customers, want to know what happens on installation day. What can you expect? What does the day look like? You want to know what will happen so you can plan accordingly. This blog is all about the question homeowners usually ask “what happens on installation day?”

To give you a good understanding of what to expect on window installation day, we’ve outlined the main steps in our installation process:

1. Installers Arrive on Site

Our professional window installation team will arrive on time at your home. They will notify you of their arrival and go over the installation process, verify your window order, and answer any questions you have. They will also be able to provide you with a time estimate for the completion of the installation process.

2. Site Inspection & Preparation

Our job foreman will do a walkthrough of your home. They will inspect each window that is to be removed and replaced. Each window area will be prepared. The team will plan out the order of the windows to be removed and start uploaded tools and materials to do the job.

3. Removal of Existing Windows and Installation of New Windows

One by one, the team will carefully remove the existing windows and prepare the open for the new window. The new window will be installed, secured, and sealed. The team will install exterior trim, cladding and other materials and ensure there is a weather tight seal.

Our installer remove the old windows from the house and bring the new windows into the house one by one. The team may also bring all new windows into the home at the beginning of the installation process depending on space, number of windows, and other factors.

4. Clean Up

Once all new windows are installed, the team will clean all areas where windows were installed. They will make sure the interior and exterior were in the same state they were in before the installation process started.

5. Review with Homeowner

We will review all the windows with the homeowner once we fully clean up the job site and install all the new windows. We’ll explain how they work, answer any of the questions you have and get your sign off on the project.

Do you still have questions about the installation process? Don’t hesitate to give us a call. We are happy to answer your questions and explain the process if further detail.
