The process for window replacement installation involves an initial in-home assessment, custom manufacturing of 100% virgin UPVC units, followed by a professional installation day where old windows are removed, openings are inspected for structural integrity, and new units are sealed with high-efficiency expanding foam and industrial-grade caulking by EcoTech Windows & Doors.
Replacing your windows is one of the most impactful home improvements you can make in Ontario, but we know it can feel like a daunting task. At EcoTech, we’ve spent over 25 years refining our “One Day Installation” method to ensure your life isn’t turned upside down. The secret to a perfect installation isn’t just the window itself; it’s the preparation of the rough opening and the precision of the seal. We don’t just “pop in” a new piece of glass; we perform a full structural check to ensure there’s no hidden wood rot or insulation gaps that could compromise your energy savings. By choosing a manufacturer-direct partner, you’re getting a team that knows every screw and seal of the product they are installing, ensuring that your home stays airtight and comfortable for decades to come.
The “installation” actually begins weeks before our crew shows up at your door. Because every Ontario home is slightly different, we never use “off-the-shelf” sizes.
A product specialist visits to assess your home’s specific needs, identifying if you need a full-frame replacement or a simple retrofit.
We take exact, “made-to-measure” dimensions down to the millimeter to ensure a factory-perfect fit.
You choose your customizations, such as our Free Triple Pane Upgrade or specific hardware finishes to match your decor.
Once the order is finalized, a certified EcoTech installer is assigned to your project to verify all technical details.
Work orders are sent to our local manufacturing facility where your 100% virgin UPVC windows are custom-built.
We keep you updated on the production timeline so you know exactly when your home upgrade is ready to go.
Our goal is to be in and out in a single day for most residential projects. Our factory-trained crews follow a strict protocol to protect your home and maximize the window’s performance.
Our installers lay down drop cloths and floor covers to protect your hardwood, carpet, or tiles from dust and debris.
We recommend moving furniture about 3-5 feet away from the windows to give our team a safe workspace.
We carefully remove the old window sashes, frames, and interior trim, taking care not to damage your drywall or siding.
The exposed studs are inspected for rot or structural issues; if we find a problem, we fix it before the new window goes in.
The rough opening is cleaned of all old caulk and debris to create a pristine surface for the new seals.
The new unit is leveled and shimmed into place to ensure smooth operation and a perfectly square fit.
We apply high-expansion Hilti foam insulation to fill every hidden gap, creating a massive thermal barrier.
Industrial-grade exterior caulking is applied to create a waterproof, airtight seal that stands up to Ontario’s freeze-thaw cycles.

The EcoTech process is a comprehensive six-step journey: it starts with a professional measurement and custom manufacturing, followed by site protection, removal of old units, structural inspection of the opening, and precision installation of the new window using specialized foam and sealants. The final step is a customer walkthrough to ensure every window operates smoothly and meets our high quality standards.
It is helpful to be there for the start to do a quick walkthrough with the crew lead and at the end for the final inspection. However, once our team has access to the work areas, you are free to go about your day. We make sure to communicate any “unwelcome discoveries,” like hidden rot, immediately so you are always in the loop.
Most modern industrial sealants and foams require about 24 to 48 hours to fully cure. During this time, we recommend not cleaning the exterior glass or painting the interior trim. Once cured, the seal is permanent and ready to withstand the harshest Ontario storms.
